Sample Point Guidelines:
Sampling point selection is dependent on the unique conditions of each installation. Consider these factors when deciding where to locate the sampling point:
The FX-1000p-B Bufferless Amperometric Chlorine Analyzer can measure only the residual chlorine actually reaching its sample flow cell. The sampling point should always be close to the sample flow cell so that the residual chlorine in the water sample at that point is essentially the same as that in the water going through the flow cell. This is most important for installations where the lag time is relatively short.
Sample Line:
When installing the sample line into the process pipe use brass or plastic fittings as they are less likely to corrode than iron fittings. A sample valve upstream of the sample flow cell inlet tubing is required. We suggest using a metering ball valve, needle valve or globe valve. Ensure that the water sample line is capable of delivering a continuous flow between 150 and 1000 ml per minute to the sample valve at approximately 15 psi. If pressure exceeds 50 psi, use an auxiliary water pressure reducing valve. If necessary, increase the flow to the sample flow cell to reduce the water sample transport time. |
